About Us
Veterans Response CIC is a veteran-led organisation rooted in South Tyneside, with a clear purpose: to make sure former members of the Armed Forces and their families have somewhere to turn when they need support, friendship or a fresh start. Leaving military service can bring opportunities, but it can also bring challenges. Some veterans need help finding stable accommodation or managing day-to-day pressures. Others may be looking for work, dealing with the effects of trauma or simply missing the sense of belonging they once knew. Veterans Response listens, takes people seriously and helps them find a practical way forward. The organisation’s support reaches across many parts of everyday life. Its services include welfare assistance, a veterans foodbank, accommodation support, ASDIC drop-in centre and access to PTSD therapy. Each service responds to a real need, but the personal approach matters just as much. Veterans are welcomed as individuals, with their own experiences, strengths and goals. Community is central to that approach. The Armed Forces Veterans Breakfast Club gives former service personnel a chance to share a meal, meet familiar faces and build new friendships. A conversation over breakfast can be the first step towards asking for help, joining an activity or feeling connected again. Veterans Response also creates opportunities for people to volunteer, learn and contribute their skills to the wider community. Based in Jarrow South Tyneside, the organisation understands the importance of support close to home. Its work brings together the immediate help someone may need today and the encouragement that can help them move forward over time. Whether a veteran walks through the door for food, advice, company or support with a difficult situation, the aim is to offer a warm welcome and meaningful assistance. That commitment has earned national recognition. Veterans Response CIC is a winner in Corporate Vision’s Global Business Awards 2026, receiving the title Best Veterans Support Organisation 2026 – Northeast England. The award is a proud achievement for the organisation and a tribute to the people whose dedication makes its work possible. Veterans Response CIC is also a member of Cobseo, the Confederation of Service Charities, and is registered with the Fundraising Regulator. These connections reflect its place within the wider Armed Forces support community and its commitment to good fundraising practice. At its heart, Veterans Response is about people standing alongside people. It recognises the service veterans have given while looking ahead to what they need and hope for now. Through practical help, trusted relationships and a strong community spirit, Veterans Response CIC continues to make a positive difference for veterans and their families.
